Clematis question?

Could I grow a clematis on a balcony in a deep pot that faces north? I get the afternoon sun.

I have 4 planted in my Yard in Sunny Locations and they are growing up a Lattice. I would think if you keep it in a "deep" pot to allow room for the roots to grow and add Fertilizer to it occasionally and Keep it Watered, it should do well.

Reply:Not very well. Clematis would rather prefer as much sun as possible. They are aslo hardy perrenials, which may not winter over in a pot-depending where you are located.

Mine is in full sun with the roots constantly mulched and it is thriving.

But then try it and see what happens.--Who knows you may succeed where others have failed!!!!! :-)
